Our Gaelic phrase of the week is ‘Madainn mhath’ which is ‘Good morning’ – I am very impressed how all the children in the school are picking up our Gaelic phrases!

As we head into what looks to be a lovely, warm summer break, all at Glenurquhart Primary would like to wish everyone a fantastic, enjoyable holiday and thank you all for your hard work this year and ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming you back when school returns for the children on August 20th and hearing all about your adventures. Enjoy!
Our School Improvement Report for our 2017/18 session and Plan for 2018/19 has now been approved and published on the Improvement Plan section of the Parents page on our website. A paper copy is available on request. We are excited about taking forward the priorities around Sustainability and continuing our work towards the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design and Mathematics) subjects this coming year.
Dolina Ross had informed us that Karate is ON tomorrow after school finishes.
Last week we held a very successful first grading at our After School Karate Club.
Layla, Elsa, Matthew, Conon, Daniel and Aiden all passed their 9th Mon 1 (One orange stripe).
Eva C, Freya, Isla, Andrew, Rhys and James all double graded up to 9th Mon 2 (2 orange stripes).
Isabella, Finlay and Thomas passed a TRIPLE junior grade up to Orange belt.
Rory passed his 4th Kyu grading (Purple Belt)
Yesterday we welcomed the new Primary 1 children and their parents in to try our school lunch and experience the dining hall. They all seemed to really enjoy it and then had the chance to go out and play in the big playground. The current P1/2 and P6/7 buddies were very caring and supportive. Well done!
We hope all the children enjoyed moving up to their new stages this morning. It was lovely to meet all our new children for August too.
As we head into our last week of term, a couple of updates for the final week….
Tuesday, 26th – 12pm Parents and new P1 children join us for lunch
Shinty World Cup for the team involved (have been informed)
Wednesday, 27th – 2pm Gaelic Class Cafe ~ Parents invited to join us
Thursday, 28th – 2pm Moving Up Assembly in Craigmonie Theatre
Friday, 29th – School closes for all at 12.10pm
Children can order a Grab&Go lunch as normal
LOST PROPERTY – This is in bags at the senior entrance. Please could you have a look through. All property left behind on Friday will be bagged, washed and sold at Parent Meetings in September or, donated to charity.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS/ CLOTHING GRANT
